Hello,
How do I get QuickPlay to load a game without ROMs?
example: Pong
This game does not have any ROMs to load.
In my QP game list, I have to add a path: d:\emu\mame\roms\pong.7z
I also have to create an empty zip file named pong.zip and place it in the ROMs folder, otherwise QP will not load the game
I understand that with this setup QP looks for the zip file and if it doesn't find it, will not load the game.
How do I tell QP that this game does not use a zip file?
THanks,
Jason

Re: MAME - games without a rom file
If you use the QuickPlay MAME tool to generate your MAME romdata.dats, it doesn't use files on disc at all, just reads the mame data files, therefore it allows all games and doesn't care whether they have rom file or not. (In order to bypass the check that a romdata.dat does on files on disc, just specify any valid file in the file field, for instance QP's own executable file - but my intention really is that you should have no need to do this yourself?)
